Heather Booth
Ms. Booth is the current Vice President of the Executive Committee of USAction. She has served in many important capacities in the progressive community, notably among them as the founding Director of the Midwest Academy and as the former Executive Director of the NAACP National Voter Fund.
John DeStefano, Jr.
Mayor DeStefano is currently serving his seventh term as Mayor of New Haven and is now running for an eighth term. He was the Democratic candidate for Governor of Connecticut in 2006. Mayor DeStefano has been a progressive state leader on supporting clean energy, reducing crime, and rebuilding housing.
Louise Endel
Ms. Endel is a prominent member of the greater New Haven progressive community who serves on many local boards including the Board of St. Raphael's Hospital.
Geraldine Ferraro
Congresswoman Ferraro represented the 9th District of New York for 6 years in the late 70s and early 80s before she went on to become the first woman vice-presidential candidate from a major party when she ran with Walter Mondale on the 1984 Democratic ticket. Since then, she has been especially active in human rights work, having led US delegations to the UN Human Rights Commission.
Bob Fertik
Bob Fertik is a life-long progressive and Democratic Party activist, as well as a blogger, journalist, author, systems analyst, candidate, local party chairman, political consultant, and entrepreneur. He has been profiled in the New York Times, Newsday, and the New York Sun.
Debbie Goldman
Ms. Goldman is a Research Economist with the Communication Workers of America (CWA) in Washington, DC.
Cheryl Jacques
Ms. Jacques is a leader in the national LGBT civil rights movement. She formerly served as president and Executive Director of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and, before that, as a state senator in Massachusetts.
Paul Kennedy
Professor Kennedy is the J. Richardson Dilworth Professor of History at Yale University and the author and editor of 13 books including The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers.
Ted Kennedy, Jr.
Mr. Kennedy is an attorney and advocate for the rights of disabled persons. He is especially focused on the issue of pediatric lead poisoning.
Eric Loeb
Dr. Loeb is the director of GoodWorks-PAC which helps Democratic Congressional candidates organize community service projects. He has been a leader in campaign innovations from 1992 (Clinton/Gore email campaign) to his recent work as a key member of the team that designed and built the DNC's national voter file system known as Demzilla.
Martin Looney
Senator Looney has served as a Connecticut State Senator from the New Haven and Hamden area for over 25 years. He currently serves as the Majority Leader in the State Senate and has been a leading advocate of the landmark campaign finance reform legislation that recently passed in Connecticut.
Don Mooers
Mr. Mooers is a Washington, DC and Maryland area immigration attorney. In the mid 1990s, he was a US Congressional candidate in the 8th District of Maryland.
Gloria Steinem
Ms. Steinem has been a leader of the feminist movement since she began her career as a journalist. In 1971, she co-founded the feminist magazine Ms., where she currently serves as a contributing editor, and she has co-founded and been involved with numerous other feminist organizations, including the National Women?s Political Caucus and the Coalition of Labor Union Women.
Bouapha Toommaly
Bouapha Toommaly organizes for progressive trade and immigration policy with the Rural Coalition. Previously, Ms. Toommaly coordinated the youth portion of the Second National People of Color Environmental Leadership Summit and served as Organizing Director for the Asia Pacific Islanders Voter initiatives of National Voice. She came to the United States with her family from Laos seeking political asylum in 1975.
Grant Woodard
As President of College Democrats of America, Grant is the chair of the student wing of the Democratic National Committee. Elected as National President of CDA unanimously in 2004, and reelected unanimously in 2005, Grant spearheaded the DNC's campus outreach program on behalf of John Kerry, working with tens of thousands of CDA activists to ensure that students across the country made their voice head.
Kelly Young
Ms. Young is the Executive Director of the 21st Century Democrats, a progressive PAC in DC that trains staff to work on progressive candidates' campaigns.
