About Us

As progressives, our beliefs are motivated by the best of traditional American values.

We believe in economic and social justice; we believe that everyone should have an equal opportunity to achieve the American Dream.

We believe that ordinary people should be rewarded for hard work, and that everyone should have the right to organize to ensure recognition of their work. We believe that everybody, especially the wealthiest members of society, has a responsibility to help the most vulnerable among us.

We believe in gender equality. We believe that men and women should receive equal pay for equal work. We believe that a woman should have the right to make her own decisions about her body, in private and without government interference. Everyone should be safe from rape and domestic violence.

We believe that everyone should have an equal opportunity to achieve the American Dream, regardless of their race, religion or citizenship status. We believe that it is unacceptable for our government or any members of our society to deny equal benefits to any individual for any of these reasons.

We believe that everyone should have access to quality, affordable healthcare. We believe everyone deserves accurate information from the government about how to make healthy choices.

We believe that we all share responsibility for preserving the earth's natural environments so that our children may bequeath clean air, clean water, and sustainable living practices to their children.

We believe all our nation's children, regardless of race, gender, geography, or economic status, deserve an education which nurtures the best in them and prepares them for the world of the future.

We believe in the importance of supporting loving families, no matter the gender or sexual orientation of their members. We believe that all Americans, regardless of their sexual orientation, should fully enjoy equal rights and benefits.

We believe that the best way to keep America safe and secure is through an honest engagement and dialogue with the world about common values. We believe that the women and men in our Armed Forces, as well as their families, deserve national leadership that takes their sacrifice seriously. We believe that the United States should be an active and positive participant in the world community.

We believe that government should be open and accountable, reflecting fundamental democratic principles. We believe that law and order begin with a bond of trust between the people and their government.

We believe the people have the power to build an America that embodies these values. We believe that we all have a responsibility to speak up and participate in the democratic process.
