Students for a New American Politics PAC is proud to endorse Representative Carol Shea-Porter of New Hampshire’s 1st congressional district. SNAP will provide two trained young activists who will work as field organizers on her campaign this summer.
Throughout her seven years in Congress, Rep. Shea-Porter has stayed true to her progressive ideals. As a member of the Natural Resources Committee, she has fought to strengthen the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts. She has also fought to reduce farm subsidies and repeal subsidies for big oil.
“I am especially pleased to receive the endorsement of Students for a New American Politics. I appreciate their work to engage young people in the electoral process,” said Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter. “I look forward to the SNAP Fellows joining our campaign – a campaign that has been truly grassroots from day one. Their involvement is an ideal fit for the style of campaign I run, because I practice campaign finance reform and do not accept any corporate PAC or DC lobbyist money.”
Representative Shea-Porter has also proven herself to be a strong ally for working and middle-class Americans, supporting a repeal of the Bush tax cuts, the passage of the Affordable Care Act, and the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
“As the nation’s largest student-run political action committee, SNAP is thrilled to support Rep. Shea-Porter, who is committed to ensuring a more equitable future for our nation’s young people,” said SNAP co-executive director Zachary Krislov. “Rep. Shea-Porter’s progressive agenda and dedication to her constituents have expanded opportunities across the nation. We look forward to supporting her in her bid for another term.”
