Kelly Westlund: WI-07

Kelly Westlund

Students for a New American Politics PAC is proud to announce its support of Kelly Westlund for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District. SNAP will provide two trained activists to work as field organizers on the campaign.

A committed progressive who has been endorsed by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, Westlund believes in closing tax loopholes that solely benefit large corporations, pulling back sequester cuts that have hit low-income families, and investing in infrastructure that will create jobs and spur economic growth.

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of SNAP PAC because I believe in what they do, connecting students with hands-on opportunities to really engage in the political process. I look forward to working with their Fellows in the 7th Congressional District and helping to build the skill sets of the next generation of progressive grassroots organizers,” Westlund said.

With Westlund in Congress, residents of Wisconsin’s 7th district—and citizens throughout the nation—will have an advocate dedicated to promoting more equal opportunities for everyone. Westlund’s experience as a city councilwoman in Ashland and her time working at a community and economic development non-profit will make her an effective advocate for the people of the 7th Congressional District.

“We’re incredibly excited to support a candidate dedicated to building an economy that serves all Americans and to creating a sustainable food and energy system to fuel our economy,” SNAP PAC Political Director Jacob Wolf-Sorokin said. “Organizing on a campaign with an extensive field operation in such a large district will be a phenomenal experience for our fellows.”

The 7th Congressional District of Wisconsin is composed of all or part of 26 counties, covering approximately 18,000 square miles. For more information on SNAP PAC, please click here. To learn more about Kelly Westlund visit
